My Review of "The Game" Premeire Looks !!!

Well HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!  I hope you all had a great beginning into 2012…..

The Game is back!  Hot looks from the Newest Season Premiere!!!

We have long waited for the series to return and it started with a Bang!  I really enjoyed the premiere of the first two episodes.  So glad I recorded it.  Well I would be oblivious if I skipped a review of the looks from the ladies of season 5.  Well who shall we start with???  I guess we will go in order of premiere appearance.
·         Dr. Melanie Barnett-Davis, M.D (Tia Mowry Hardrict)-  Had long flowing hair with soft curls (never goes out of style).  Now I am sure Tia has good hair because we remember her from ‘Sister Sister’, but I know she has some “Enhancement” (WEAVE)!
·         LaTasha “Tasha” Mack (Wendy Raquel Robinson)- She rocked a long straight weave with swooped bangs long layers.  Unoriginal, we have seen this look before.  I was hoping to see the look we seen during the promo commercials.
·         Jenna Rice (Tika Sumpter)- Another long straight weave. No layers, just bluntly cut.  I liked it on her.
·         Chardonnay (Brandy Norwood)- Now her hair was my favorite of the night.  I love layers with the “choppy edgy” look.  Her hair I would have to say was my favorite of the premiere.
·         Janay Brice (Gabrielle Dennis)-Her hair was my second favorite.  She had a long weave with wavy hair.  It looks like the Virgin Indian Hair.

Overall they didn’t over do any of the looks which I like because sometimes less is more.  I wish they would have given Wendy Raquel Robinson’s character a different look.  We have seen her in long weaves the majority of the seasons.  Time to change it up!  Stay tuned for more of my opinions AWARD SHOW season is here and I will definitely be giving my opinion on the hair and overall looks!!!

Winter Style Forecast!

SO….. Winter time is upon us!!! Some states are already getting snow, and here in Texas we have definitely been getting cooler weather.  Winter’s hair forecast, COLOR!!!  Warm and golden blonde hues will be IN this winter season.  Length wise, short lengths with along swoop or long lengths 14+ inches seem to be what will trend more this winter.  How will you rock your hair?  Check out the styles below:

Keri Hilson—Loving the color on her!  Her color is absolutely FABULOUS I believe this is the best I have seen her hair so far!

Rhianna-Of course Rhianna is known more for her hairstyles than for her singing!  Check out this beautiful short style with swoop…So in this coming season.

LaLa Anthony- LaLa’s soft flowing waves are really going to be HOT during the cold winter!  It’s all about soft, flowing curls, waves, and feathers with the soft styles.

Hot Looks on Housewives of Atlanta Season 4!

Well it’s countdown to my absolute FAVORITE reality show Housewives of Atlanta.  The new series begins November 6, on Bravo!  Everyone pretty much look the same with the exception of Kandi Burris.

One of my favorites, from the show Kandi has debuted dark brown straight extensions which look great!  I don’t know I am undecided whether she looks better short or long.  I think both looks look great on her except I found an older picture in which her hair was long and black.  LOVED that.  What is your favorite Kandi look (Short or Long)?  Which ATL housewife’s look do you like the best?

So what looks are everyone else pulling off?

Kim Zocliak- She still wearing her blonde wig.  They seem to be getting better as the seasons progress.  Thank God she has Derek Jae on her team.

NeNe Leeks- Still in her blonde 27 piece but it looks great!  I don't know I think I liked her better with the long hair in season 1.

Cynthia Bailey-Loving the curly long extensions on her but I think she looks good with her short spikey look when she first started last season.  The molded down flat version of the short look was a no-no, (trust me I understand a bad hair day) but not for live TV!  Overall I think she should stick with the weave.

Phaedria Parks- Gotta give it to Phaedria, haven't had a bad hair day as far as I could see!  Does Dwight Eubanks do her hair?

Sheree Whitfield-Gotta hand it to Sheree too, never seen her with a bad hair day! Right now she's rocking her extensions which look FABULOUS!  My favorite look on her though was the long ponytail and swooped bang from the season 1 reunion show.  Loved it!

Well there you have it love or hate them they'll be back November 6th and I'll be front and center!  Less than 30 days away!

Beyonce's HAIR Countdown Video

So I just checked out the New Video from Beyonce!  FABULOUS!!! Love all the different looks on the video my favorite though is her cover of the Audrey Hepburn Look from the movie Funny Girl.  The hair looks to be a wig pinned into an up style.  She wears a variety of different pinups in this video, some with covered with a satin sash.   Beyonce’s videos are always clever and cute and I love her GIRL POWER attitude!  Click the picture below to make bigger and then checkout her video and see all the looks here:

Are you going to WEAVE IT UP this Winter?

Well the season has officially changed.  It is FALL and WINTER is around the corner!  I tend to do a lot more weaves and extension work in the winter time so I wanted to share a few tips and things you should know BEFORE you consider adding extensions to your hair.

There are many things that you should take into consideration BEFORE getting hair extensions.  At Magic in Motion Hair, we believe in educating our client in the best options to keep their hair healthy.  Here are 7 things you should know:

#1   There is more than one or two ways to install hair extensions.  There are many types of advanced techniques in which to create natural looking hair extensions.  There are more techniques than simply bonding or sewing.  There is Malaysian, Fusion, Linking, and a technique I created call Micro-stitching.  Your stylist should be diverse in a variety of techniques.

#2   All human extension hair is not created equal.  Hair is categorized by grades A-D (D being the lowest quality or grade).  Getting extensions is an investment cheaper is not always better. You also have to be aware of lower quality hair being marketed as high quality hair.  These particular brand easily tangle and cut down the time you can wear your weave or hair extensions.

#3 I am often asked, “What extension method is best for me?” Each client hair texture is different, and you may think your hair texture can support hair extensions healthfully when in reality it cannot.  At Magic in Motion Hair, complimentary consultations are available to determine the extension service that is right for you.

#4  Do care for the hair.  Getting hair extensions does not give you permission to not properly maintain the extension hair, Your hair underneath the hair, or to have the hair serviced.  It is still best for the health of your hair to come in to get your hair shampooed and properly conditioned while wearing extensions.

#5  If you wear sewn in extensions be sure after shampooing and conditioning, to dry under a hooded dryer.  Air drying is bad for your hair because your hair can actually mold or develop an odor underneath.  Always, Always, completely dry sew in extensions under a hooded dryer.

#6  DO let KNOWLEDGEABLE TRAINED professional complete your extension services.  All hairstylists are not created equal, and a weave improperly installed will be visibly poor, unnatural looking and in some cases can damage and take out your hair.

#7 You may be wondering, "how do you know if your stylist is trained in extension application?"  Majority of extension class certifications provide CERTIFICATES.  LOOK FOR THEM.  Be sure to ask your stylist lots of questions and ask to see BEFORE and AFTER shots of their work.  It is sad to say, but some stylist take (STEAL) pictures off the web and claim as their own and you the client, end up disappointed in the end.  Trust your gut feeling.

Well that is seven things you should know before getting hair extensions.  I hope you have enjoyed the information from a stylist trained by the best in the industry.  Contact me for a complimentary consultation and receive $15 off your booked appointment.  To schedule an appointment call  (832)687-3198.   For a full bio of Marta “Magic” Dean and to see her work, visit www.magicinmotionhair.com

New Photo Shoots

So I figured it was time to do some updates to my website and add some new model work. I LOVE doing photo shoots and I have more recently started learning makeup application so that I won't have to hire a makeup artist when I do a photo shoot.  Here are some sneak peeks of some of my new work, and by the way I did the hair AND makeup!!!
